Kwang Hee “Patrick” Chun, a student seeking his Master of Science in mining and geological engineering, took first place in the poster competition at the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists’ 61st annual meeting.

The poster, titled “From Lidar Scanning to Geotechnical Stability Analysis of the Kartchner Caverns in Arizona with 3D Visualization Computing Solution,” stood out among 150 other entries when it was on display at the meeting Sept. 15-23 in San Francisco.

Chun is pursuing his degree while working with MGE department head John Kemeny.
