MGE Alum Wins Mining 'Medal Of Merit'

The Mining Foundation of the Southwest selected MGE alumna Vicki Seppala as a recipient of the organization's 2019 Medal of Merit.

Seppala earned her bachelor's degree in MGE, currently works as general manager at Climax Mine for Freeport-McMoRan. Throughout her career, Seppala has served as the first woman mine manager in Chile and director of corporate safety for Freeport-McMoRan. She engages with multiple Women in Mining groups, and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Lowell Institute for Mineral Resources.
