Doctoral Students Win Poster Prizes at SME Annual Conference

Jiajia Wu and Junmo Ahn, both MGE PhD students working with associate professor Jaeheon Lee, received poster session prizes at the annual Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration conference in Denver in February 2019.
Wu won first place in the highly competitive mineral processing and metallurgy division of the graduate students poster contest with a poster titled "Synergistic Effect of Cyanide and Glycine on the Gold Leaching From POX Residue of Copper Concentrate.” Ahn's poster, “Novel Biooxidation Process of Gold-Bearing Sulfide Ore,” won fourth prize.
In addition to the poster contest honors, Wu and Ahn won scholarships of $1,000 and $250, respectively.
